What is a Joint Issue?

In order to bring particular emphasis to an event, countries will join together and issue stamps on the same day to commemorate the event.  The first Vatican City philatelic joint issue was the 1995 Radio set with Germany, Ireland, Italy and San Marino.  Since then, there have been numerous joint issues.  Below is the material I have available for some of joint issues.
